Werring Contemporary is pleased to present Disrupted Realism: The Evolution of a Movement, opening Saturday, September 12th, 2026, with a public reception from 4 to 7 p.m.
Co-curated with writer and curator John Seed, the exhibition explores how this movement in painting has continued to develop, bringing together artists whose varied approaches reflect an evolving dialogue between representation, abstraction, and contemporary experience.
This current iteration features 16 accomplished painters who push realism beyond faithful representation. Through fractured imagery, shifting perspectives, expressive mark-making, and passages that move between the recognizable and the abstract, the artists explore the complexities of perception, identity, and the world around us.

A Solo Exhibition of New Paintings by Kerry Dunn
October 2nd - November 1st, 2026
In this recent body of work, Dunn uses a vibrant, often unexpected palette, textured surfaces, and compelling narratives to give familiar scenes a surreal quality. Figures appear suspended in heightened moments of movement, tension, and collective activity.
Moving between observed reality and subjective experience, the paintings reveal the emotional currents beneath everyday life.
