Inspired by the landscapes of California, artist, writer, and curator John Seed's latest watercolors occupy a compelling space between abstraction and realism. Atmospheric washes of color, fluid mark-making, and immersive passages of light evoke the essence of place rather than its precise depiction, inviting viewers into moments of reflection where color, emotion, and landscape converge.
Seed embraces the spontaneity and expressive potential of watercolor in this new body of work to create paintings that transcend direct representation, offering instead an emotional response to landscape shaped by his impressions of the natural world.
