KIRSTINE REINER HANSEN
Kirstine Reiner Hansen is a Danish-born artist based on California's Monterey Peninsula. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Design and Illustration from the Kolding School of Design in Denmark before establishing a painting practice recognized for its evocative, psychologically resonant imagery.
Hansen's work has been exhibited in galleries throughout the United States. In 2012, she was awarded the prestigious Lillian Orlowsky and William Freed Foundation Grant and has twice been named a semi-finalist for the Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition. Her paintings have been featured in Juxtapoz magazine and in John Seed's book Disrupted Realism: Paintings for a Distracted World. Her work also appears in the 2023 independent film Meaning of a Ritual.
